There Is No Honour In Killing

The Canadian Council of Muslim Women (CCMW) condemns the murder of women in the name of family honour or for any other reason. There is zero tolerance in our faith for the murder of another human being. CCMW uses the term customary killing for this type of abhorrent crime, although this term is also not ideal, as we believe there is no honour in killing.

Charges Under the Terrorism Act Against Three Canadian Muslim Men

Along with all Canadians, we are shocked to hear of the threats of violence being made by fellow citizens on Canadian and foreign soil. It is a matter of enormous sadness for us that the three accused men are Canadian Muslims. At this time it is futile to defend, apologize or explain that this is against Islam, but we can and do condemn the use of violence to resolve any issues, for it is well known that violence only begets more violence.
