Hourly rate: $14.00

Number of weeks: 8 weeks

Total hours: 240

Time frame: Within May 2018 – August 2018  

Reporting to CCMW National’s Projects Coordinator and working collaboratively with CCMW National, CCMW Youth, and CCMW Toronto, the Events Coordinator will develop events and campaigns pertaining to educating, empowering, and supporting Canadian Muslim women. Activities include event planning, promoting events on social media and in-person, organizing event logistics, verifying registrations and payments, developing assessment measures and reporting on outcomes, and youth engagement.

 

Eligible Requirements:

Applicants must be

  • between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment;
  • registered as a full-time student during the preceding academic year;
  • intending to return to school on a full-time basis during the next academic year;
  • a student in a recognized secondary, post-secondary, vocational or technical program;
  • a Canadian Citizens, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act*
  • legally entitled to work according to Ontario legislation and regulations

 

Experience:

Demonstrated experience planning and organizing events, managing expenses against a budget, and youth engagement. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience in event planning and community engagement within Muslim, student, and/or racialized communities is an asset.

 

Skills:

Applicant should have a positive attitude, good organizational and management skills, strong writing skills, and the ability to prepare reports, and work independently and collaboratively to achieve intended outcomes.

 

Supervision and mentoring plan:

The Projects Coordinator will provide the CCMW Assistant Coordinator with all the information concerning health and safety standards and regulations.

The Projects Coordinator will provide the CCMW Assistant Coordinator with all the information concerning health and safety standards and regulations.
