CCMW sent a letter of appreciation to CBC for their coverage of Ramadan in Canada (Ramadan: Long Summer Fast).
This month-long effort by approximately 1 million Canadians who embrace Islam is, indeed, a test of willpower given the long hours of fasting when Ramadan coincides with the summer months. We are especially appreciative that young Muslims were the focus of your story. These young women and men are representative of the current generation of Canadian Muslims who are pursuing careers that may take them away from their own families and communities and yet to choose to maintain their faith identity while creating their own customs for Ramadan.
